Okay, into this week's topic...
Back in January, I sent an email about how I was reviving my own website's SEO.
So I wanted to give a lil' update on that because things are CRUISING WAY BETTER than I anticipated lol
Here’s what the data's showing 👀
Since October 2025...
🔥 AI Visibility Score - gone up from 19 → 22
🔥 Domain authority score increased from a 22 → 24 (it was stuck on 22 for YEARS)
And then here's the keyword + traffic numbers not even from October, just from JANUARY (when I sent that original email).
These numbers are 6 weeks apart.
If I were to spend money on Google Ads to get the same amount of traffic that I'm getting from free organic SEO right now, I'd be spending over $2k a month.
SEO IS SO COOL YA'LL.
THIS IS WHY I'M OBSESSED WITH IT.
Because I'm *literally* not doing anything crazy.
Since January 6th 2026:
- I created ONE new blog post: SEO in 2026: Trends & Predictions from 15+ SEO Experts (this was a collaboration post that I put together, so I didn't even have to write all the content for it).
- I reached out to some PR friends to see if they wanted to update an OLD guest post on my website: Press Page: Do You Need One? What Should You Include? -- just for context, this was an old blog post on my website from a previous collaboration. It hasn't been updated since 2019, but it was still showing up on page #2 of search results for a few keywords, so I wanted to refresh it & see what happens.
- I updated an OLD blog post about Google Search Console: the previous post was kinda whack. Not very much text, just a quick overview & some YouTube videos embedded. So I used RightBlogger's Youtube video to Blog Post tool to help me update this blog post into something WAY more in-depth.
I created ZERO blog posts from scratch over these past 6 weeks.
1/2 of the content that I DID create was in collaboration with other people.
And the other 1/2 was repurposed from my YouTube channel.
2/3 of the blog posts were just old pieces of content that I updated.
But I gotta tell you the WILDEST part about this...
One of my main service pages — that I haven't touched in YEARS — moved to the top of page one for a HANDFUL of SEO keywords I care about.
I didn’t update the copy of that services page.
I didn’t tweak any headings.
I didn’t even rewrite the damn SEO title.
So, what DID change?
I've been adding more SUPPORTIVE blog post content to my website.
This is the MAIN lesson I want you to take away from this...
Your blog posts don’t live in a vacuum.
They reinforce your expertise.
They support your services & product pages.
They remove ambiguity about what you're THE authority in.
It’s the *rising tide lifts all boats* effect 🌊
When Google & AI see consistent, aligned content around a topic?
They gain confidence and clarity for your ENTIRE WEBSITE & BRAND.
More clarity = better rankings.
I repeat: For your whole ass website. Not just the single blog posts.
So it's not just about posting *more* content, it's about posting the *right* content that SHOWS you're the expert.
This is why I've been saying that SEO in 2026 is getting harder to bullshit.
Because you gotta prove it.
How do you prove it?
By giving more CLEAR signals. And blog posts are an incredible way to do that!
(assuming you already have your core pages optimized; home, about, services, etc).

Want to see the full breakdown of my SEO Data since October 2025?
I talk about SEO data allllll the time; with clients, with students, and with members inside of Search Club.
It's SO IMPORTANT to get used to looking at your numbers.
Because that's how we figure out what to tweak + experiment with.
Which is how I've been able to get good results recently.
Not because I'm doing everything perfect (you don't wanna see my SEO health score lmao) - but it's because I'm prioritizing the RIGHT things that *actually* move the needle.
In my latest YouTube video, I walk through all the numbers & the decisions I've made for these results.

👇 Action step for this week:
If there’s a service or offer you want to rank for this year, start building content AROUND it.
Start SHOWCASING that you are the expert in your niche with supportive blog posts.
This week, I want you to:
👉 Pick ONE service or offer you want to rank for in 2026.
👉 Write down 3 blog post ideas that would support YOUR AUTHORITY in that space.
For example, posts that:
- Answer questions related to that service/offer
- Clarify misconceptions
- Compare options
- Break down your process
- Address objections
For example, if you’re an interior designer and you want to rank for:
“Interior Designer in Dallas”
Your supportive blog posts might look like:
- “What’s Included in Interior Design Services?”
- “Interior Designer vs. Interior Decorator: What’s the Difference?”
- “How to Prepare for Your First Interior Design Consultation”
- “When's the Best Time to Hire an Interior Designer?”
- “Behind the Scenes: My Interior Design Process From Concept to Install”
- "Interior Design Trends for Remodeling Your Office in 2026"
- "7 Small Kitchen Interior Design Ideas That Make the Most of Your Space
