Ayyyyyyyyyeeee Reader,
Quick question: what does the H1 heading on your most important page *actually* say right now?
Go check. I'll wait.
If it's something like "Welcome to my website" or "Let's build something beautiful together" or if it's *just* your business name...
We need to talk lolololol
Because that H1 is a HEAVY HITTER for that page on your website.
It's gotta juggle a lot. It's your page's first impression, your elevator pitch, AND one of your biggest SEO opportunities; all in one line.
And most people are wasting that space OR overthinking it.
So let's dive into in example...
Let's say you're a web designer that's trying to figure out the right keyword to target on your service page.
Here's what I'd do:
I'd make the main target keyword = website design services
That's the very LITERAL perfect keyword for that page, because it's LITERALLY the solution that it solves. We don't have to overthink this.
Annnnnnd this keyword version "Web design services" lives WITHIN that target keyword phrase, so now you're targeting 2 variations at once. Then if we wanna layer in the "web design packages" we can do that easily too...
Making your H1 heading something like: "Website Design Services & Packages"
Which now hits ALL these keywords;
- web design services
- website design services
- web design packages
- website design packages
- web design package
- website design package
And THEN you can ALSO layer in your messaging AND your target audience, if you beef up that H1 even more, with something like..
"Website Design Services & Packages for eCommerce Brands"
Now you're hitting multiple keywords AND getting more specific about WHO the page is for. Which means the right people self-qualify faster. AND Google and AI tools have crystal clear context about what this page is actually about and who it serves.
That, my friends, is THE sweet spot.
Keywords + messaging + positioning, all working together in one line.
Why does this matter SO much right now?
Search bots and AI tools look at your H1 as a big signal for understanding what a page is about. And with AI search specifically, clarity and context matter NOW, more than ever.
If your H1 is vague, poetic, or just your plain ole' business name, the bot has to guess what the page is actually about. And we already talked about what happens when bots are left to guess in his previous newsletter here lol.โ
Clear H1 = clear context = better chance of showing up in the RIGHT search results AND the RIGHT AI answers.
It goes beyond just your H1 too.
When someone types a longer, more specific query into an AI tool, like asking for a website designer who works with eCommerce brands, focuses on conversion, and runs a boutique studio, AI tools are piecing together a full picture of your business from multiple pages on your website.
Your website is *literally* the training manual for AI tools to understand your business.
The more clarity you give, in the right spots, the easier it is for them to match you to the RIGHT people already looking for the solutions you offer...
And that's exactly what I'm breaking down in my brand new live workshop on June 10th ๐

Action step for this week:
Go look at the H1 heading on your most important service or money page right now and ask yourself 3 things:
- Does it clearly say what the page is about in a very literal way?
- Does it speak to who it's for?
- Does it include your target keyword?
If the answer to any of those is no, or "I'm not even sure what my H1 is girlllllll" that's your task this week.
Rewrite that hoe and make it more literal, speaking DIRECTLY to your people.
Clarity = better SEO results = better rankings & recommendations = more $$$.
Annnnnd snag your ticket to the workshop so we can go even deeper on this stuff together on June 10th.
